About the event
Spend a transformative winter's day in the Wild Mountain Forest. Join residents Lance Bishop and Sarah Clarke for an enriching experience exploring the art and science of working in the explicit context of old forest restoration. From the philosophical underpinnings of sustainable forest management to the practicalities of tree selection, horse logging, and timber milling with a small portable sawmill, you'll witness the entire process firsthand. Culminate the day by observing the unfolding creation of a value-added outbuilding constructed from the freshly sawn lumber. Enjoy warm drinks by the campfire, but please bring your own lunch and dress warmly for a winter day in the forest.
