Grass-Fed Lamb
"There's a reason it tastes better--we've
been eating grass-fed for a long time!"
What customers are saying about Wild
Mountain Farm's Grass-Fed lamb...
"Hi. I bought some lamb chops from you this past
Saturday to take back to my dad in Cape Breton...
Just wanted to drop you a line to say that he was SO
HAPPY to get them, it was a nice surprise for him.
He thought that they were well cut, and better than
he had seen in a long time. As he prepared them, my
parent's kitchen smelled amazing! He and my
younger sister shared them, along with some
squash, potato and cabbage. He loved their flavor and
clean taste!
Quite the compliment, if you know my dad! Just
wanted to send along some feedback ~ we will be
repeat customers for sure!
With thanks :)

"I just wanted to tell you the leg of lamb we bought
from you for thanksgiving was fabulous--the best
we've ever had! Thank you! You made our day!

Lance's mother's family raised sheep up
on the North Mountain for generations.
The photo to the right shows her parents
and their flock on their Hall's Harbour
farm in the 1940s.
Like cattle, sheep are ruminants. Their
stomach design allows them to flourish
on grass pastures. Accordingly, like the
cattle, Wild Mountain Farm lambs are
grass fed.
Experienced lamb connoisseurs
consider these products some of the
finest tasting available, owing largely to
the fact that the animals are not fattened
on grain.
Because they grow slower than gain-fed
lambs, most are carried over into their
second year and butchered when they
are adults. This meat is technically
termed “hogget” (animals between 1 to 2
years old).
